This campaign was aimed and succeeded where other
brands had previously failed. We developed a strategy
devised to enable Pulsate to 'give' back to the student
community in exchange for being on student campuses
throughout the orientation 'party' weeks.
The campaign
consisted of press, radio and cinema advertising geared
towards publicising the presence of the Pulsate Mobile
reporters - a group of selected students who roamed
the parties, photographically documenting the events
and giving away mobile phone coupons. At the same
time as the reporters roamed throughout New Zealand
we had an online team continuely uploading photos
as they arrived on a daily basis. Throughout the period
we uploaded close to 20 000 images to the pulsate
website, attracting huge traffic and attention for
the whole orientation month.
Shortly after the event, we arranged to have a mini
yearbook given away throughout all universities, packed
with pictures from the campaign.
The campaign was a huge success, with Pulsate's brand
credibility soaring.
